Brandied Applesauce Nut Bread

1 cup raisins
6-7 Tbsp brandy

1 cup sugar

1 2/3 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon cloves

1/3 cup flour

1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup butter

1 egg

1 teaspoon soda

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon allspice

1 cup applesauce

Soak raisins and pecans in brandy 2 hours.  Cream butter, sugar, and egg.  Combine next seven ingredients to make dry mixture; add to creamed mixture alternately with applesauce --  beginning and ending with dry mixture.  Stir remaining 1/3 cup flour into brandy mixture; fold into batter.  Scrape into 9-by-5 inch loaf pan.  Bake 70 minutes at 350 degrees.
